Q. Is there an age limit on who can train ?
A. No, there is no age limit, however we may have special separate classes for children under the age of 8 years.
Q. Do I have to be fit to train ?
A. Absolutely NOT. Many people start training in Tae Kwon-Do to improve their fitness and lean self defence at
the same time, as well has having great fun.
Q. I can't kick that high, do I have to be flexible ?
A. No, not many people are naturally flexible, but the training includes exercises that will improve your flexibility.
Q. Will I get hurt, it looks quite aggressive ?
A. We practice semi contact sparring, i.e. there is light 'touch' contact. All training is carried out in a safe,
controlled and constantly monitored environment to minimise any accidents.
Q. How intense are the training sessions ?
A. Training can be quite demanding, but all students are encouraged to train at their own level, so you will not be
forced into doing anything the instructor feels unsuitable for you. However, you will be encouraged to improve
your training (fitness, ability, flexibility, etc).
Q. How long does it take to get a Black Belt ?
A. If you train consistently, show dedication and commitment, then you can attain a Black Belt within 3.5 to 4
Q. How often are the gradings to progress from belt to belt ?
A. Gradings are approximately every 3 months for the first year of training, then every 6 months after that.
Q. Can we train as a family ?
A. This is fully recommended as it is a great way for the family to train and develop together. We have great family
rates that makes this affordable.
Q. What about the training suit and sparring kit ?
A. All the training equipment can be brought through the club as and when you want to purchase it. There is no
obligation that you need to purchase all the kit at the same time, we will gradually spread this cost to suit your
